Adder and Fulmar

Male Adders have been basking on but mostly off for the last month and are just about to start pre-breeding moult. Females should appearing very soon, often a few weeks after the males emerge. Fulmars are very vocal and active around the nesting ledges.

I wonder what the (camouflaged) insect is on the adder. We have had few insects about (a few bumbles, ladybirds and a shieldbug in my patch) here in Suffolk so far.
